Holiday Chocolate Covered Popcorn


I’ve been dying to try this but I haven’t had a reason until now! So, my first friendsgiving of the year is tomorrow and I have an abundance of chocolate I need to remove from my apartment…like immediately. So, I decided to make this! It turned out to be MUCH more involved than I had anticipated but it is so worth is a deliciously amazing. Here’s what you’ll need:

1 cup of white chocolate chips
¼ cup of dark chocolate chips
1/3 cup of milk (any kind)
1 bag of microwaveable popcorn (I used fat free)
2 cups of crushed pretzels (whatever is your fave!)
Red and yellow sprinkles

First pop the popcorn DO NOT BURN IT.

While you wait, crush up the pretzels.


In a big bowl, mix up the pretzels and popcorn.

Layer a cookie sheet with wax paper and pour of the popcorn/pretzel mixture.


Put the white chocolate chips in a bowl and splash a little milk into it. Microwave it for 20 second increments and mix with a metal spoon until melted. DO NOT OVER MELT. It will burn.


Now you’re going to get dirty. In the big bowl you had used to mix the popcorn and pretzel mix use your hands and scoop in 2 handfuls of the popcorn mixture. Pour a little of the melted white chocolate and use your hands to crush it up and combine the popcorn with the chocolate. Keep doing this until the chocolate is all gone and the popcorn is all mixed up.

Pour this back onto the wax paper evenly.

In a different bowl, put in the dark chocolate chips and a splash of the milk. Microwave it for 20 second increments and mix with a metal spoon until well melted. Again, don’t burn it.

While the popcorn is on the wax paper, sporadically pour the dark chocolate on top. Use a big spoon or your hands and mix it up a bit so that the chocolate is not just in big chunks.


Sprinkle the red and yellow sprinkles to your liking.

Put in the fridge on the cookie sheet for about 15 minutes. And serve!

This is MUCHHHH more involved than I thought it would be. But it was worth it. I think people will like this J You can also add in nuts or m and m’s. I plan on making this again soon and will be doing m and m’s instead of the dark chocolate! Yum. Use what you have in your kitchen or whatever chocolate you want. This is versatile! And could be super fun as gifts for people for the holidays!
